The 6 Big Lies of Nikki Haley
1. Lied on financial disclosure forms - Nikki Haley has built her campaign on transparency, even calling for full income disclosures for all elected officials. But she failed to disclose a $42,500 consulting contract with Columbia engineering firm Wilbur Smith that she got because of her 'access' and 'connections.' (Source: CNN Political Ticker, Columbia Free Times, Conservatives for Truth in Politics (TIP))
2. Lied about her taxes - Though Nikki Haley calls herself an accountant, saying she wants government to learn “the value of a dollar,” she’s failed to file her own taxes by April 15 for the past five years, paying more than $4,000 in fines and penalties. (Source: The State, TIP)
3. Lied about her business experience - She said that she voluntarily left her $110,000 a-year job as a Lexington hospital fundraiser but records show that she was forced out because she could not meet the job’s 10-hour a week work obligation. (Source: The State, TIP)
4. Refused Honest and Full Disclosure – When Vincent Sheheen released a decade of tax records and challenged ‘reform crusader’ Nikki Haley to do the same, she said, “I think that’s excessive, I really do.” (Source: WIS-TV, Post and Courier, The State/McClatchy)
5. Hiding Possible Info About Her Sexual Behavior - Amid allegations of infidelity, Nikki Haley ditched her campaign for full disclosure, and instead hid behind a legislative exception law that allowed her to keep documents and email correspondence on her state-issued computer - documents that may incriminate her - secret. (Source: The State)
6. Lied About Campaign Contributions - Nikki Haley lied during a debate with Vincent Sheheen in Spartanburg, saying she did not accept donations from payday lenders. She later called the statement, “an oversight.” (Source: Post and Courier)
These are just a handful of the lies and misleading statements that Nikki Haley has told on the campaign trail.
We don’t mean to throw mud or cast a negative light over this race, but if it is true, it’s not throwing mud …it's the truth.
Something else is true, too: our state is at a critical point, and it is more important than ever that Democrats get out and vote for Vincent Sheheen tomorrow.
This is important. Please forward this email to anyone you know who may be undecided about who to vote for.
Be sure to vote tomorrow. Polls across the state are open from 7AM-7PM, visit SCVotes.org to find your precinct information.
It all comes down to this.
Thanks for all your help over the past year,
