Pumpkin pie is really easy to make, Gene, and you'll be the hero of the occasion.  Just buy a readymade crust imo if you haven't made one before and chuck in the filling.

Cornbread is even easier.  Just google up a recipe.  Cornbread stuffing is awesome too.
