Got this from Gallup.com...

Right now Obama's approval is at 47 - a couple of days ago it was at 44 (before Wikileaks).

Comparing him to other presidents really isn't saying much since some of them made tremendous recoveries - Reagan(43).
While other fell back Jimmy Carter (52).
Interesting to notice is that JFK who had his tenure cut short by on Grassy Knole is a winner by a mile in this (74). Would've been interesting to see him in a re-election...

As I stated, not saying much. But still kinda fun....

Wow, Obama is more popular than Clinton and Reagan were at this point.

They both won re-election.

This is odd.  Luckily, getbiggers weren't around yet to declare the re-election campaign doomed.  Like they did on healthcare.

No other president has had such margins theirfirst year in office and you ignore the disastrous midterm that obama sufferedas a result of his failed marxist policies.

no wonder.

The graph is interesting, but I'm not sure it accounts for the enormous loss of political capital and drop in popularity.  You also have to look at his current disapproval ratings in connection with the recent election.  He's pretty wounded.

Again - at this point he could do anything and still have 45%.

No president will ever drop below 40.

Approval rating is gonna go up. And then it will go down.

If it's really low six months before the election then Obama need to start worry.

Conversly, if he's up in the high 60's and 70's half a year ahead of the election, then the GOP should worry they may have very tough task ahead of beating him.

But right now, it's more than anything an indicator on how he's able to get his message through/how he's doing his job/how powerful his PR machine is/how the world economy is doing/how strong or weak his opposition is.
A combination of these things.

Just trying to be honest.
