I already posted something on this, but most likely very few care or knw about it. 

But they sure know about bristol and palin hunting faux paus.

This may seem an odd place and time to say it, but I would also like to dedicate honor to the Japanese, yes even on this day.  For the Nation that they have built in the aftermath of war.  For the pains suffered by both sides and forgiven by both sides.  Today we are good allies and friends.  Our current relationship with Japan is testiment of the greatness of humanity over war, anger and hate.  So today, I solute both America and Japan.  Let us continue to have a good future together.  I think this honors the lives lost on both sides...

One of the reasons the United States was so adamant about surrender was the intelligence that in the final days of the War in Europe, Germany had shipped to Japan components for a dirty bomb...
