There’s been some confusion as to whether or not there are IFBB pro cards awarded to the Arnold Amateur winners. U.S. competitors will NOT be awarded IFBB Pro status for their wins at the Arnold Amateur contest.

If an Arnold Amateur overall winner goes on to receive IFBB pro status, they will be invited to compete in the pro competition the following year at the Arnold. Sylvia Tremblay is an example of this in the Fitness division.

From Arnoldamateur.com:

The Fifth-Annual Arnold Amateur IFBB International Bodybuilding, Fitness, Figure and Bikini Championships will once again include amateurs from USA’s NPC and IFBB competitors from around the world, including Europe, Asia, and Canada.U.S. competitors in men’s bodybuilding, women’s bodybuilding, fitness and figure must finish in the top five at an NPC national qualifying-sanctioned event to be eligible for the Arnold Amateur. No qualifications needed for classic bodybuilding and bikini. Download entry form.

Pro cards are not awarded to U.S. competitors who win the Arnold Amateur Men’s and Women’s Bodybuilding, Fitness, Figure and Bikini competitions. However, Arnold Amateur winners who go on to earn a Pro card through a sanctioned-qualifying event will be invited to compete in a future Arnold Classic, Ms. International, Figure International, Fitness International or Bikini International.
