Stark,
your trip report very much resonates with me. You seem to be a fan of nature trips.
What are you favorites places/routes inside and outside of Ireland? Any recommendations to a low profile Getbigger like myself?
The Sahara Desert is next on my list, but then I think I might be ready for s.th. different like Ireland.
Thx,
Since I am a father now I don't have a ton of time anymore, but I am mostly in the wicklow mountains which are not exactly Cannada and as wild as Alaska but you can easily spend a day there
without seeing anybody, in fact they just found somebody up there who died and was never found so that should give you an indication what kinda place that is.
Since I did a very basic course in survival in the German Army I was faszinated with living in places most people would feel not comfortable with - I always enjoyed spending time outside, sleeping/camping with bivibag outside etc but it all changed a wee bit when I discovered bushcrafting which isn't surviving as in I try to spend as little time as possible here and try to survive as good as I can but instead to get
comfortable in nature and living by what you have, I am still very much a beginner (the pros can go out with as little as a daysack a knife and very little else and be comfortabe) my rucksack is still pretty big
since I am also very caucious outside - I have no desire to break my foot and nobody knows were you are.
