The original bill was going to be open to 55,000 people.  i live here and there were not 55,000 "first responders" at that site. 

This was going to be the same as the black farmers settlement - bloated, wasteful, and spending money we dont have.

I was thinking about this the other day, I do attempt to put things in perspective over time.  If Clinton had been president, he would have caught hell for being "asleep at the wheel" or cajoling with fat interns, since Bush was in office he got the "asleep at the wheel" blame, with Obama it would have been a "sleeper cell conspiracy" when in reality, I don't believe any of the 3 would have "allowed" it to happen if they really thought there was a threat.  I think the powers in Washington were arrogant and living in a blissful un-reality that it would never happen on our soil and got caught with their pants down....

Weren't there allegations that Clinton had the opportunity to take out Osama, but chose to ignore it and continue with some dinner he was having?  i seem to remember something along those lines, but could be off a bit.
