Interesting conversion you made. I sometimes wish my stepfather had been my biological father and my mom had been my stepmom, but the opposite is the case. Still environment can be a more powerful influence on us than heredity. My stepdad is my hero. I miss him greatly. My Mom is my my mom. As she used to like to remind me, she is the only mom I had, like her or not.

And how has growing up in that environment affected you?..what kind of man are you today because of it?

While humorous, this hardly accurately compares men today with men of past times. Where are the military men of today? Where are the fops of yesteryear? Where are the men's men cowboy types of today? Where are the girly boys of times past?

I like to believe I am a good man. I am a family man, married for almost 47 years to the same woman. We don't fight (especially not like my parents did). My grown children lead happy lives and both have solid marriages with children of their own. A lot of the credit for not continuing the disfunctional family cycle goes to my wife, but I worked at making my life 180 degrees different from what I'd known growing up.

Incidentally, I have little time for folks who excuse their own bad behavior because to things their parents did. I had two adopted sisters who were both more than fifteen years younger than me. One sister died a couple of years ago and the other has been in recovery for the last 18 years. Both had serious problems with drug and alcohol addiction and both had unstable family lives which unfortunately have continued on through their children. They both blamed our parents for their problems. Oddly, I was the child who had the most unstable life growing up. This is largely because, my mom and real dad were younger and less mellowed with age and experience. My sisters didn't have a great or ideal childhood by any means, but it was much more stable than mine was.

The most important aspect of being a man is having the maximum amount of sex.

Fuck as many women as possible. Fuck them long and hard. Be a true sex god.

Everything else is just the foundation. The sex is the building of man.

In the animal kingdom, every time, the most powerful males are the ones who fuck tons of females.
yeah but there is no child support and alimony in the animal kingdom

Women with self respect wont ever consider you a boy for that way of thinking........

If you think a woman won't cheat on you with a dude with a smaller pecker........

It's best not to find out.

very few real men left in the world. Most are metrosexual closet fags and the rest dont have the testicular fortitude to fight their way out of a wet paper bag.       1% club is what the percentage of real men is.

I believe a real man is someone who keeps their word   Right or Wrong.
Protects his family and those he cares about   and never ever ever takes it in the ass   drunk or not

I am sixty-six. Doesn't seem old when you get there. But I remember when I was in my twenties, someone sixty-six seemed like they were near death. LOL! Fortunately, a lifetime of hitting the gym and relatively clean living has provided me excellent health.

Believe it or not, some folks still have solid marriages....even younger folks. Both my kids are still married to their original spouses. My son has been married twenty-two years. My daughter has been married almost fifteen years. In fact most of my cousins are still on their original marriages or partnerships....must be in our blood.

Fortunately, although I almost am from the stone age, I am not petrified yet.

Married or not, I sincere admire people who have stable and happy(!) longtime relationships.
Also a lifetime weightlifter?

Don't get me wrong....my marriage is great and we are happy together. However, I believe some folks can't make a relationship work because at the first sign of difficulty, they bail. It would be a rare relationship where two folks who have been together for a long time can say they've been consistently happy. Too many are never satisfied and always looking for something better then what they have.

This applies to weightlifting and bodybuilding too. I don't have the genetics to be a bodybuilder; both my parents were tall skinny people. I was a tall painfully skinny kid. When I started lifting weights to get bigger, I didn't see results like some teenagers do. I sure didn't look like Arnold or other guys from that era. However, I didn't let this discourage me, I never gave up. Although I still don't look like a huge muscle dude, I look and feel a whole lot better than the average Joe my age or any age for that matter.

Off to the gym now to work quads; -leg extensions, various calf exercises, leg presses and hack squats. My damn quads are going to be 28" some day if I keep it up....and I will.
