I saw a commercial for them.  I see what they're getting at... they don't want the govt taxing certain 'junk' foods.  "I can tell my kids what to eat, etc..."

But don't people who eat junk food all day - on a macro level - going to be the same ones costing us all more at the healthcare national level?  Isn't this more of a "you wanna eat shit, that's cool, just pay more for it"?

is the overweight lady buying Ho-Hos, or the skinny hottie buying lettuce, more likely to be suffering from diabetes at 33 and begging at the social security teet?

(It didn't help they had an overweight woman in their commercial buying lemon-lime soda).

Here is the thing.  A tax is not a ban.  No one is stopping you or i or anyone else from buying junk food.  Just be prepared to pay more for it.  It's not an impingement on freedoms, there is no right to cheap junk food.
