She ended up with a far more interesting story in the long run....

that bitch probably couldn't appreciate the fact that she was a part of GB history

btw, re: Marty Janetty- he was a big part of me developing "apathy" a young kid cuz I would feel so sorry that he became the under appreciated worker he was.  As you know, the guy is SUPER cool and still a great worker

for those of you who don't know about "the Greatest Story Ever Told", here it is

I always felt bad for Jannetty too.  He carried Michaels in the old AWA on the stick and often in the ring.  Michaels was a "good" worker, but Jannetty was clearly the leader of that team.  In the WWF Michaels came into his own and Jannetty was just pushed aside.  And I've always heard good things about him.....he isn't bitter or anything like many others would be.

This story perplexed me as an 11 year old, and I truly believed that Hacksaw was a traitor against our great Country.
I thought for sure that President Ronald Reagan would personally take care of Hacksaw Jim Duggan for hanging out with the Iron Sheik.

"In 1987, Duggan and the Iron Sheik (Khosrow Vasiri) were pulled over by New Jersey police after a WWF event, suspecting Duggan of driving under the influence. After a search of the vehicle and the persons, police discovered that Duggan was under the influence of marijuana and alcohol, while Vasiri was high on cocaine. Small amounts of cocaine were also found in the vehicle."

Just as an FYI, I was the absolute coolest kid in the 2nd grade because I saw Bob Backlund wrestle the Iron Sheik at the Philadelphia Spectrum.  Hulk Hogan was Backlund's manager, and eventually took off his cowboy boot, hitting the Iron Sheik over the head and busting him wide open.  As souvenirs, my Dad bought me both the Hulk Hogan #1 foam finger and Sgt. Slaughter's foam "cobra clutch".

My father suggested to his friend that he buy his child, Salvatore, a souvenir.  His friend replied:  "That kid is going to end up to be nothing but a mezzo-finocchio."

lol...I didn't end up half a fag

and for the record I was a bigger steamboat mark then I was a hogan mark....

actually, that was I lie- I was  a huger hogan  mark as a kid.  I loved steamboat but my respect for him surpassed my respect for hogan when i became a teenager and became "smarter"

There is no doubt that I watched both the NWA and the WWF.  My brother used to get PWI, so I used to read it.  Because of that, I was really into NWA, and the battles going on between Magnum T.A. and Ric Flair, The Road Warriors vs. Everyone, etc.  I hated Harley Race, and I thought he was just white trash.

One of my earliest memories of watching wrestling on TV was when Larry Zbyszko knocked out Bruno Sammartino with a steel chair.
I met Bruno at the AOBS dinner in Newark, NJ in 2009.  Awesome guy.

Sure it's poor film making, but it's good part of 80's cheese - so bad it's good.

Two of the finest movies of the late 80's:  Hell Comes to Frogtown, and They Live.

Ha! Sure. AMC just ran it, and I now have Tremors over my shoulder. Can't wait for Masters of the Universe to round out the cheese tray.
