TR was not so great, in my opinion. Besides, TR was an avid outdoorsman who could only be described as slightly overweight in his later years.

FATSO is a morbidly obese slob who has no chance of ever being president.

He may be fat and may never be president but he is honest about the problems we are facing and works on fixing the issues instead of selling a lie

Thats what matters and should matter

Weather or not he would be a good choise take to the high school prom is totally irrelevant

I don't know if the clip talks about it but in NJ, the cops can sell back sick days when theyr etire. Some cop sold back 900K worth...the town had to float a bond to pay it and a few smaller ones off. Thats a bit ridiculous....but you gotta love those unions. Benny thinks the black mayor of Newark, Booker will run. Hopefullly Christie will have cut enough bullshit that Booker won't be able to sink the state.

It takes two sides to make contract negotiations.

Some of those union negotiations are bad, but the other side agreed to it.

Accepting to unreasonable terms under threat of strike isn't exactly an agreement, it's called extortion.

Unions are an antiquated device that should be abolished immediately.  They were originally formed when there wasn't enough legislation to protect workers, however now that there is more than enough worker protection legislation at both the state and federal levels, they only serve as extortion rings and and the  last bastion of mafia-like tactics.

I appreciate what public servants do - but they CHOOSE that field.  In return, they are very often guaranteed work, no matter their performance.

Teachers are given tenure (a guaranteed job for 30 years) if they complete 2-3 years.  Imagine that kind of job security in any other realm!  Also they get free health insurance (for themselves) and of course, they work 46 weeks each year.  And guaranteed raises if they get certified nationally, or pick up a masters (which the district often pays for).  And guaranteed cost-of-living bump most years... and they go bananas when they don't see it one year.

It's not a bad gig... I wasn't a good fit for teaching, but my peers thought I was crazy for leaving a guaranteed paycheck for life.  There are a lot of slackers who find a place to hide in teaching, but there are a lot of teachers who love what they do and who make a difference.

All in all though, is there a sense of entitlement from a group guaranteed so many things?

As of The 21st century you have more tools to bargain with.
In NJ, Christie( I don't agree with all of his policies) is now able to get unions to negotiate or lose your job.

I believe that unions will always be viable.  Global corporations don't give a rat's ass about safety/health/wage issues if they can get away with it.

Between city, county, state, federal, departments of labor, osha, public works bureaus, thousands of laws on all levels, etc there are no justification for unions anymore.

And this cop in this video really cracked me up.  This asshole has the balls to complain about the cost of living when he is too ignorant to realize that massive costs of living and tax burden in nj ny ct etc are a direct result of the insane pay packages for public workers as it is.

Taxpayers are leaving in droves because they can't afford this crap anymore.

I know a ton of cops and firemen and almost to a tee they are the biggest leeches on the planet and treat those who pay their salaries and pensions like shit.

Let em all quit if they think they can make more in the private sector.  Since they all compare themselves to ceo's and wall street tycoons and execs, perhaps these superstars can all seek vigger fortunes elsewhere and leave us already overburdened taxpayers the hell alone.
