Parker, what do you know about the BMW 2002. Whenever I see one in the streets I always stop and look no matter the condition of it. Fools gold or worth it?

Is that the one were the whole front end flips forward to access the engine? Friend had one back in the day, his experience was that it was a piece of shit.......but it could have just been his car. ;D

Fools gold. A attorney friend of mine had one, took me for a spin...it was fun as hell, but he got rid of it. He said that due to it's small size and lack of safety features---like crash beams in the doors, it was a death trap...The Alfa Romeo Guilia or GTAs of the late 60s early 70s were it's competitor on the road and on the track, and were a lot more pretty. In fact the Alfa Romeo was in a Shaft movie, funny seeing Richard Roundtree getting out of such a small car...

The 2002s are great for the track, but shit on the road---all Cars even today's Mini are way bigger than it...and yes, they lack safety features...it's a metal deathtrap on the road...

Yeah man, even though this guy had a 5-point harness in his, that car was nothing but a tin can with four wheels, and you were the Tuna...didn't help that his speedo didn't work either---a attorney not knowing what speed he is going, lol. It was a fun spin---but, you had the feeling like a Miata could crush you. If the dam thing had a airbag, it would be a danger, as it would eject you out the back window.

Check Wikipedia for how many actually were sent to the US...it wasn't that many...very rare...

i know they are hard to get one here in europe to, and if you find one its going to cost alot to, cars and kids to afford it. but its a beatiful car

I've only seen that bodystyle twice in real life, and it was a 2800 CS, both were owned by a old man in Annapolis, MD. Since I don't go to BMW meets, I probably would have seen more. One has a better chance of spottig a Ferrari than a 70s CSL

Yes it is. I almost got killed in one of these models clearly unstable but they dress out as a good race car on the road courses handling is good.
