The GOP plan is even too tame for the size and scope of the issue. Rand Paul i the only one who has presented anything real so far. Not that it matters to leftists like yourself who won't be satisified until we lose our bond ratings and lose reserve currency status in order to prop up this WTF level of spending, but that is another story.

yeah, i saw the tea party spokesman bashing the Paul Ryan plan this morning - it raises the debt in a major way in the next 29 years. All those tax cuts for rich ppl to take jobs overseas

if he had just cut entitlements - and just not touched taxes on this one (Hey, they do get to keep the bush cuts)... it would have been an awesome plan. But Ryan has to serve his masters, I get that.

Agreed. It has potential but no one is going to go for something like that because it would be political suicide with elections next year.
If this were 2009 instead of 2011, I bet it would garner more support.

yeah, well, if they love the country, they'll take the hit. They'll all work together on something unpopular and just pass it.

You can give me a total lifetime lib (think Trump) who suddenly reverses the debt growth to a deficit in a year - you'll show me a guy with job security. And even if he loses office, he can write a book about how he saved the world from financial collapse.

At this point, it comes down to this.... Ryan and Obama will both raise the debt significantly. Obama thru entitlements, ryan thru tax breaks for corporations. NEITHER will cut the spending. period. They just both want to hand the $ to diff groups who elect them.

So screw em both
