has the foreclosure rate been bad by your hood?  i live on the North Shore, and if you take a drive up Sheridan into Kenilworth, Wilmette, etc. for a while it seemed like every other house was in foreclosure.  i realize living there's a status symbol, whereas people with money go to Barrington to somewhat hide their "presence" from the public eye because it's somewhat out of the way, so maybe your neighbors are a little more conscious of their spending habits, "Les"?
