That one's pretty much universally regarded at the worst game ever.

These days, with all the info on the 'net, it's hard to fall into the trap of a bad game. They're usually exposed pretty quickly.

He doesn't like Microsoft, so you have to take it with a grain of salt.

The first Halo was absolutely one of the best FPS of that generation of console.

Konami games were notoriously difficult back then... Rush N' Attack was all of 12 levels and damn near impossible to finish.

No extra lives almost ever... 1 hit and you're dead. Stuff like that.

LOL, and a lot of games actually were made EASIER for the European/American market, Japanese versions were even harder, because there were so many maniacs in Japan.

Metal Gear Solid series is among those....

Absolutely true... I think these couple of games were really not changed much if at all in regards to game play.

I think when Metal Gear first hit the NES, then that changed, but prior to that, Konami games were evil as fuck.

Yup. Can't remember specifics, but I think the hardest level on MGS here was the normal over in Japan.

Yes, and there were a few others, a buddy of mine bought a NeoGeo from Japan, all the games were fucking insanely hard.

I think it was Metal Slug or something.

I also think the Biohazard series (Resident Evil) was much harder in Japan.

A good friend of mine was into importing games from Japan for awhile. He played the Japanese version of MGS first, so our release was a breeze to him.

I could be wrong, but I don't think they did this for the European market for that series. I think it was the same as Japan.

Interesting, there's a new Rush N attack on xbox live, I only played the demo but it seemed fun and not frustratingly difficult!
