I dont think it was a clever idea to pick the "Human Torch" Chris Evans to do another super hero...like there's not enough actors to play each Super hero in Hollywood?  wtf.....Word he is talking to start as AquaMan for next summer.

Remember, CA has no super powers.  Not even super strength.  He is physically as strong as a normal human being can become, but his strength is not superhuman.  He may be as limber as an olympic gymnast or a strong as a WSM competitor--but he is still baseline human.

x2.  There are a million (muscled) guys in Hollywood.  Did they really need to recycle this actor?

Stavios is the skinny guy before he gets turned into CA in that machine Chris Evans or a different actor? Just wondering if they shot the movie months apart before he worked out and after....

I'd say he is stronger.

Watch the Avengers Trailer and see how he treats a Punchingbag.

Wrong.

Damn, you're right.  >:(

wiki:

"Captain America has no superhuman powers, although as a result of the Super-Soldier serum and vita-ray treatment, he is transformed from a frail young man into a "perfect" specimen of human development and conditioning. Captain America's strength, endurance, agility, speed, reflexes, and durability are at the highest limits of natural human potential. It has been established that Rogers' body regularly creates the super-soldier serum; it does not wear off.[60]"

I really enjoyed this one and consider it to be one of the best hero films I've seen.

And Evans was good in the role although I also thought CA would be more muscular.

But by Hollywood standards, he is muscle-bound.

But I'm glad he got the part .... family members worked with him in the X-Men (?) series and continue to hold him in high esteem as a downright good guy and dependable actor.

Stay seated through the final credits for a 30 second glimps of THE AVENGERS.

BAY, You said above .... "There are a million (muscled) guys in Hollywood.  Did they really need to recycle this actor?"

I argue that exact same point whenever the occasion arises while visiting the Hollywood movie making critters, but in my case I always recommend that they consider a few GetBiggers who are damn impressive  ... but without a track record nor a reliable Hollywood Agent .... my arguments seem to carry little weight.

At one time Gold's Gym Venice had an office that sort of acted as a casting agent. Do you recall those days and who was the man in charge?

Not exactly.

He can't juggle elephants but his limitations are what humans can genetically POSSIBLY achieve ever.

Meaning if we evolve to be bigger / stronger / faster a million years from now. Cap is already the perfect physical specimen of that now.

Cap can benchpress over 1200 pounds and can run a mile in 73 SECONDS.

What physical specimen can do that?
