You know - I was shooting and was there at the IFBB Musclecontest when this all happened.   I also talked to Jennifer Pimentel, and it is a tough situation for her.  Obviously, she needs to take care of things between her and he husband first and foremost.  Either he supports her or not.  This isn't a career. She loves to compete.  This was a pro debut.

You want to discuss it - fine.   I was there.   I had my own opinions as to who placed what...

Aaron wrote about it on his column...

Isn't Singermann trying to petition to be the next pro rep?

This wasnt about Lee Thompson, Manion or Lindsay - it was about a husband who lost it, but now pretty sure is regretting what he said.

I was there - unbiased.  She should of been in the 3rd call out.  Judging was spot on her.  She wasnt 16th place, I had her between 11th to 13th, but because she didnt show up at the night contest, 16th it is.  Only fair to the other girls.  Jon doesnt care who places where.

WTF? Manion wasnt even there.  BUT, I was in the front, right behind the judges.  Where did he hear this crap, because it wasnt where I was sitting, right about 2 seats awat from Lee and others.  Now he is insulting the other competitors. All which are quite cool.  This is my hometown, and I know a lot of these competitors.  They are all nice, including his wife, Jennifer.  This issue is between them.  Jennifer loves to compete.  She wants to compete again.  She is not there to take first, this was her rookie debut, and she wasnt 100%.  She KNOWS that.  She was there to enjoy, get better, and just have fun.  This isnt a career.   No one destroyed Jennifer.   But this guy took the joy of her pro debut, and completely ruined it by refusing to let her come back to the finals.

We could of taken some fun pics at night, and have her enjoy the evening like all the girls did, even if they didnt place in the top 5.  Maybe some photoshoots, some stories and articles about how hard she worked.  It wasnt about this guy having a meltdown, it was about her.

No he is not.  Aaron is trying to make a living enjoying what he does.  Going to shows, reporting on things, and trying to have fun being a part of something.  That isnt bad at all.   But NOT everything needs to be reported on.

Chick is doing the job as the IFBB Pro Rep.    Aaron is writing a column and enjoying what he does.

This actually happens a lot although not to this extreme.  However its a subjective sport and everyone goes into a show thinking that they are going to win but of course there can be only one winner.

If that husband thinks that she'll place better at Paul's league then she should try her luck there.

Well Aaron job is writing Bodybuilding Gossip for RX Muscle and this does fall into that catagory.  But yea, Ron, this really didn't need to be reported.  Because of all the attention, I really think Jennifer's IFBB career is over with for the most part because it looks really bad for a competitor not to finish a show

Oh boy,

A guy posts a thread about Singerman being the new bob while giving his view on "the event" at the last bikini pro mentioning some high profile people in particular the all powerful Lee Thompson and the all gifted graphic novelist and Female Manager extraordinaire JM Manion

(btw, if you type Manion in Microsoft Word the spell-checker suggests “minion”. clearly showing that Bill Gates knows shit about BBing)

Said guy goes to work (yeah some people work 9-7), comes back and notices the thread was deleted, Said guy creates a new thread complaining that it is not possible to post in Getbig about the all powerful Lee Thompson and the gifted graphic novelist JM Manion, lots of contributions

Same guy wakes up and again goes for his 9-7, comes back and notices his original post (two threads ago) has been re-instated and merged into totally new thread (this one)

So here I am and since i don’t want to overcomplicate things, I have only one question:

Why did Lee Thompson's wife say in the Singerman show that she tried to appease this delusional, evil, crazed- whatever u may want to add to discredit him- husband of bikini competitor by suggesting they go and talk to the judges and crucially to JM Manion so as to understand why she placed last, and what she needs to change

Given that JM Manion seems to represent all winners of pro figure etc competitions there can be two schools of thought here:

1-Go talk to JM Manion for some honest pointers as he can spot a winner from 10K miles away

2-Go talk to JM Manion because he will fix it for you, if  xxxxxxx

Call me a cynic, but I go for number 2

Kristal Marshall, Ava Cowan....they all threw temper tantrums at one time about their placings and they are just fine now. She will be too.

She looked great btw....just too hard for bikini.

Stuff like this makes bodybuilding interesting quite honestly.

Bring on the cattiness!

not to distract from the real issues (see my post) but really:

"Stuff like this makes bodybuilding interesting quite honestly."

either your are to far ahead in the future or to far back in the past, but right now female bbing is Iris Kyle- it is not a bikini competitor (not yet anyway)

Whatever....the new bikini is an extension of bodybuilding. It makes the IFBB interesting bottom line.

First of all, Amanda Latona won the IFBB pro bikini contest here in Los Angeles at the contest.  She is not represented or managed by J.M. Manion.   She just was the best on that stage.  Second, not sure what was said exactly by Stacy Thompson, but it was made VERY clear at the meeting that if you had any questions, go right to Lee Thompson (head judge) and he will go over everything with you.  Right after the finals, he was there, at the side, with the scorecards, going over any question that was asked.  I hate when people say they fix things.

We don’t know where she placed.  Pretty sure she wasn’t last - but when she didnt show up at night, hence last place.  Second, Lee Thompson is the head judge. There are other judges that score. And I know, that they don’t agree on every placing. Hence, the ‘opinion’ of 7 different judges.

Most of the time, anyone who places out of the top 3 is upset.  They can talk to the judges, they can talk to various trainers, they can even talk to the unbiased photographers are shoot many shows, and each will give them their opinion as to why they didnt place higher.  Some people accept it and strive to be better.  Others do not.

I've never seen a contest in which someone doesn't object to the decision.

And I've only witnessed two in which a FIX was attempted. One successfully and the other nipped at the bud.

And neither of them were NPC sanctioned events.

This 'meltdown' against promoters, judges, and sanctioning bodies has not been a common event in the past but it appears that the possibility of its reoccurance should be taken seriously.

When the man than sings (like a canary) stated he was going to start a gossip radio show about the "industry" I him asked something like this: How do you plan to have an interesting gossip show in a micro industry managed by a very small number of people who happen to be total control freaks and whose benevolence your employer depends upon to make a living? You report something gossipy and as Johnny Ramano and Polumbo will tell you, you get the powers that be cutting Rx access passes, etc. Hell if Polumbo was so quick to cut loose of his best friend ramano due to complaints, aren't you setting yourself up to getting screwed by palumbo like countless others -just so that Rx gets its traffic fix? The singer never sang back

It looks like this edition of "Muscle Gossip" has been pulled from the site.
