Seems to be the times of reboot. Superman: Man of Steel coming out late next year is also a reboot of the Superman franchise.

Exactly, Marvel and DC have a whole back catalog of characters that they could "exploit". Not to Mention that Image/Wildstorm, Top Cow have ones that could do well, like The Darkness, Witchblade, The First, etc.

There are a bazillion characters, but how many of them are actually big money... Hell, Green Lantern should have been a monster at the box office... It was lack luster to say the least.

When you look at BIG MONEY characters, most of them have been done or are already in development.

No one wants to see Dr. Strange or Firestorm.

Look at how poorly the wonder woman reboot was received... And was I the only guy who watched Jonah Hex?

Let's just be real, I'd love to see a (Fawcett) Captain Marvel, but it won't happen... There is no market for it.

Much like Robert Downey Jr pulled off Iron man and Norton is a good Hulk, they can act and have proven it before.

Not sure why they chose Brandon Routh as the new Superman for the reboot other than that he looked the part. I think he was a male model before or something like that...

Never heard of Firestorm. I might actually see a Doc Strange movie if the trailer looked decent. That was a character I liked reading as a kid.

Some of you all are some serious comic book geeks...all kinds of characters I've never heard of.

A lot of people have heard of Apocalypse actually. Spiderman was on my lunchbox, doesn't mean anyone wants to see him flailing around getting his ass kicked until the last possible second every single movie.

The problem is sometimes the characters and the actors that portray them. Jonah Hex is a old school Western type---that genre is kinda played out, unless you do it dark and gritty. One could do Priest or Sandman---with a dark supernatural edge and win praise. WW hulk could be done as well. The Darkness is ripe for this era-sex, violence, mafia, and supernatural rolled up into one---but it must be done by someone who understands the genre and willing to push the envelope.

One can go villian route and do a Magneto or Sabretooth film---they are already planning Venom. Nightwing is good as well---use a young, handsome actor with charisma would be appropriate.

Elfquest would be hard to do, though

the coolest looking rendition of spider man ever was not the recent movies. it was an intro to a production company where a black spiderman jumped up and landed on the company logo. looked awesome.

i could live with this if it was done right. they can still do it. walker is still young enough. just keep dark like batman, and mix in a bit of hancock.
