are you 333's insane twin brother?

No. The truth is that to get us out of this mess, we need politicians who can make real tough decisions, but that is not something they can campaign with. You go campaign telling people we need to cut government spending drastically (means cutting a LOT of social programs, assistance programs, military spending-its a lot as you know) and at the same time the middle class needs to really start forking over tax money. Most middle class (this would be me) pay almost no income taxes, they get the majority back come tax time.

We could get out of where we are at, but a lot of dumbed down americans would never vote for anyone not promising an easier life. That is just human nature, but sadly politicians have their careers and they want to get voted into office and that generally means lying through your teeth and making empty promises. Thus I do not hold politicians at fault here, I mean think about it- if america would REALLY like to get out of this hole, they would say "I am willing to sacrifice ANYTHING and do WHATEVER it takes to get out of this, just show me the way" yet you and I both know that is not the truth. They want to keep living in their comfort zones and will continue to vote in whomever promises to keep the status quo and then when things don't work out the blame fall squarely on elected officials. It's not their fault, americans just refuse to accept the harsh reality of where we are at.

Now, I might be wrong. I freely admit I do not follow politics closely, at all. But that is how I see things.
