LOL... so to be clear... the spend-happy veterans of the GOP will ensure the spending continues!

Any GOP Senator who voted against the debt deal "will be ineligible to serve on the supercommittee"

Senate GOP sources tell the Weekly Standard that senators who vote against the debt ceiling legislation today will be ineligible to serve on the so-called "supercommittee" for deficit reduction that the legislation creates.

"Excluding those who vote against the debt deal will ensure that some of the most fiscally conservative members of the Senate Republican caucus, including most of its freshmen, will be reading about the committee's activities in the newspaper rather than guiding its decisions."

Among those who have already declared their opposition to the deal: libertarian-leaning senators Mike Lee and Rand Paul; Jim DeMint, the aggressive fiscal hawk from South Carolina; conservative reformers Ron Johnson from Wisconsin and Pat Toomey from Pennsylvania; the ranking member on the Senate Budget Committee, Jeff Sessions; and Florida’s Marco Rubio, already one of the highest-profile conservatives in Congress.

Tactical error.  The most fiscally conservative point of view is where they want to begin the negotiation.  Not 75% of the way to the other side.

the bill will now be written by the repubs who have been borrowing $ for 20 or 30 years.

Freezing out all the new tea party thinkers.

Where did I say I hate the tea party?  Rand paul is one of my favorite politicians, and I feel palin is a bandwagon TP phony.  I like different candidates based upon their positions and qualifications.

what would have happened with this debt deal if there wasn't ever a tea party?
