You got me there, I had forgotten about the stand out performances of Robert De Niro, Christopher Walken & the other cast members!!
The scene at the end where Deniro, just misses turning him around & Walken get's it.
That sums up the whole can't readjust back to civilisation, after seeing what you have seen. Makes you wonder how many vet's we have walking around that were in Iraq & Afghanistan over the last decade, that are just as (if not more broken). Weird how we are coming up to the 10'th anniversary, & Nam went on for 10 years..........

he deserved best supporting actor for this film for sure. All three are great films. But you're spot on about how fucked up these soldiers ( in any war) would be. Can't even comprehend what goes through their minds
