What's your stance on regulation?  What are some examples of good regulation?  What are some examples of bad regulation?  If possible where do you draw the line?

Good Regulation:
- the FDA and Food Inspections - generally, our food supply is very safe and any outbreaks have been quickly contained.
- again, the FDA along with US Customs and Border Protection - inspect imported products(China)....bad products have been identified and corrected, although sometimes they leave a lasting bad consequence, such as Chinese Drywall.
- Department of Energy (OHSS) - Nuclear energy safety and regulation - pretty self explanatory.  Nuclear energy needs to be monitored and regulated.

Bad Regulation:
- Financial and Banking regulations that lead up to the Foreclosure and current Economic Crisis - Whether it was over or under regulated, one thing is for sure: it wasn't smartly regulated.
- EPA - various environmental regulations based on non-concrete science has led to several companies fleeing from the US and many jobs with them.  Higher taxes on some products(gas guzzler tax on passenger cars) and also a "Green" movement that was nothing more than another tax loophole to go through and free government dollars.
