Look if I was a cartel advisor I'd tell them to run from this or better yet ensure this idiot got dimed to the DEA like he did. Right now the cartels can do whatever the hell they want inside Mexico and operate well enough on our side of the fence. Imagine the heat if they were linked to a political asssination. The massive bureaucracy that is US Federal law enforcement would collapse into a coherent and high effective force backed by the US military. They don't want Rangers wacking drug plants or Delta kicking in the doors of their mansions. Its way to much heat. There's alot of stuff out there that link groups with Hezbollah etc in Latin America but this would be a major step.
