Something for the future. Obama style.

Just looking at some random shit here about windpower, apparently 1 percent of the worlds power comes from wind turbines. It's also been doubling every 3 years since 1995 every, which mean by 2020 10-20 percent of the world wind power will be generate by renewables.

Am I the only one that feels like they've been sleeping through something.

Won't happen any time soon, it'll take 30 years to build/research at the fastest, and I'm very optamistic, most belive 60-70 year before it's the norm. The stuff even if it works it is very capital intensive.

Or just cap the methane from all of MiqMaq's bullshit.

Or hydrogen powered cars.

How is what I'm saying bullshit, this is shit other people have done/proved/payed for. And electric cars are being produced at an ever alarming rate, trust me man just as the boomers missed the IT revolution, our generation is set to miss the electric revolution.

If we use electric cars and charge them only when wind is at peak we'll be able to fuel 90 percent of america's energy needs within 30 years.

Yep were gonna obama the economy even further turn wind energy into our national industry free health care for all, industrialize the wind cordor, with electric car building factories that only operate when wind levels are high.

Wind farms shut because it's too windy
The Sun ^ | Oct. 25, 2011 | STEVE HAWKES

NATIONAL GRID has been forced to ask wind farms to shut down for the second time in a MONTH - because it's too windy.

Seven wind farm operators switched off their turbines on Monday night.

National Grid said they were generating TOO MUCH power as storms ripped across Scotland.

It leaves taxpayers with yet another bill. National Grid has to pay wind farm operators compensation when asking them to stop the turbines.

National Grid said: "It was very windy yesterday and there was some curtailment of wind generation."

Despite huge subsidies for wind farm operators, National Grid claims its network is not ready to handle the power surge in storms.

It's always interesting to see idiots proclaiming the benefits of "electric" cars. When in fact they should be calling them coal powered cars if they really want to be accurate.

Cars, whether they be electric, hybrids, or powered by pig shit, have no place in the future.  The average vehicle weighs around 4000 pounds and transports roughly 400 pounds of people.....stupidly inefficient......not to mention the huge grid and traffic enforcement that is required to support this.

The future is electro-magnetic rail.  No emissions, super efficient, carries tons of people.  No more roads, traffic fatalities, drunk drivers, highway cops, potholes to fill.  Also, America gets skinnier as they get to walk to one of the many train stations.  Instead of miles and miles of oil-stained pavement, we get rows and rows of trees and green grass...divided only by a skinny rail line.

Personal vehicles will be relegated to "sport" or be driven by farmers in rural areas.

in simple terms, as long as people in the high ups are cashing in on our sorry asses, we won't see any progress... efficient energy sources = less money for them

the technology is there... but they'll never let it happen...
by they i mean oil companies and governments around the world. not some secret cult of old men that turn into alligators... LOL

When will the public realize that Obama doesn't give two shits about sustainability or being˙ environmentally conscious. He has no long term, clean energy plan. His move into green energy is nothing more than a weak attempt to recreate an economic bubble like Bill Clinton rode on (internet boom) the back of.

A desparate man will reach for any life preserver....and this incompetent fool and his minions are sinking at a record pace. The shame of it is the middle-class is bailing out his failed energy investment.

North America is 10-15 years behind Europe in clean energy technology. Wind farms being used in Europe for years now.

Electric cars can be much lighter than they are currently the main reason they are so bulky is because of safty concerns.

It stands to reason cars can be built much light than 4000 pounds if, there are road restrictions for max weight would save alot of money in road construction, and if we can use electronic nav systems to protect drivers from accidents.

It's hard to imagine America walking to a train station.
