One of the main demands from Occupiers is the closure of the gap between those living the high life and those for who struggling in a tough economy is a full-time job. The latest forecasts are not optimistic though, because the gap appears to be widening. RT's Anastasia Churkina reports from New York.

Obviously someone did not watch the video, as the income disparity in New York has grown, like much of the U.S., and is worse now than ever before.
 ::)

I have, and continue to do "something about it" in my own small way. What about you, "uberman"?

Are you from New York, "uberman"? Have you seen the way Manhattan in particular has changed in the last couple of decades?

This reminds me why free education should be also in america. Those with hig grades and stipends in schools should be let in good universitys and not with money. It's unfair and really fucking stupid.
Then there would be more smart people in universitys of america and not just rich people, getting real jobs and  doing the jobs that would actually help america.

They are the reason for NYC's income disparity???

No republicans are responsible? You know, the party pushing for LESS regulation for Wall Street? The party that thinks the rich pay TOO MUCH taxes? The party that makes ALL of its decisions based on how it will effect the MOST affluent Americans?

OK, PEA BRAIN! LOL  ::)

Sure, we can "go there" PEA BRAIN. ::)

Obama went to Ivy League schools on scholarships. *edit* And STUDENT LOANS that he and Michelle had just payed off a few years before he became president. Obama comes from working class roots.
Bush payed his own way with his wealthy family's money an connections to get in.

Before Corzine was CEO of Goldman, Hank Paulson and a long line of republicans were.

John Thain was a right-wing repube who worked for Goldman and helped fuck up Merrill.

MF is small potatoes and has nothing to do with the wealth disparity...Corzine was already rich, and so were MF's investors.

How about Lehman and Bear Stearns, you dodo?

Income disparity and economic growth go hand-in-hand. The most egalitarian societies consist of stone age hunter-gatherer tribes.

You have obviously never visited a US university.  VERY small percentage of the students are "rich."  There are tons of ways to go to college without the parents paying for it.  Scholarships, student loans, GI Bill, etc...

And those with "high grades" are the ones who would receive the academic scholarships in the US.
