scientific fact, no it is an observable phenomenon, but i have a feeling in 25 years there will be a new explanation for it, something on the quantum level, einstein will be given a pat on the back and then asked to step aside
honestly dont know enough to debate the finer aspects, but time slows down whether you explain it using the concept o relativity or what have you (string theory maybe?).

it's changed from molecular process to mechanical process, the little stupidities your brain comes up with on a daily basis lol, you are a very creative troll

yup, time slows down, not mechanical processes lol, in fact if you flip things around and say ok time never changes, then "mechanical processes" speed up because more things happen in the same amount of time

but even this simple concept is way beyond tbombz understanding

;D

i completely understand the concept broseph

mechanical processes slow down

time is a record of mechanical processess- a duration in which X amount happens is Y unit of time

if the gears on a clock slow down, then a minute will take longer to go by

but if at the same time all the cells in your body slow down, the nuerons and brain activity too, then that minute will still only take a minute

not hard to understand.  ;D

what im saying is that a minute is a minute. "time" doesnt change, doesnt speed up or slow down.  yet all you guys with your head stuffed in your asses who cant think on your own outside of what your professors and textbooks tell you are fighting with this extremely basic logical fact.

I see better what you're saying now, didn't mean to jump on the bandwagon.

But I still disagree with the contention that a 'minute' is a 'minute'. A minute is a minute in your intertial frame only. We measure time via mechanical processes as you just said (for example a second may be defined by how long it for a molecule to decompose). By this definition it will always measure the same no matter what speed you're going at, but relative to lower speeds 'the tick will take longer'.

honestly i dont know what the fuck time is, its still a mystery in science as far as i know.

 ;)

we only disagreed because we were using different operative definitons

Hah, i think so.

Trouble is its hard to define time without reference to an event.  Ive heard the theory that time is just a relationg between things and not a quantity that exists outside that relationship. Still puzzling why it would be relative though.

i believe, though i might be mistaken, that the experiment was based on the idea that nothing can travel faster than the speed of light. the "magic" communication between electrons was "proven" because in order to their to be some kind of mechanical communication going on it would have had to have occured at a speed faster than the speed of light. since this is (was) thought impossible, it is(was) assumed that there was some kind of "spooky" action going on between the electrons.

however the recent development with nuetrinos being observed going faster than the speed of light throws that idea out the window.

kind of odd someone would believe in a speed limit anyways.

electrons do not communicate - but to observe them we have to shine a light or some other stream of particles on them - doing this can actually change the behaviour of the electrons.
