I've been heating mine, but it is thick oil, and I am not a pussy so I use a 22g 1 1/2" about 80% of the way in. It shoots pretty slow still.
No real pain to speak of, no blood other than a drop, and no cough, in fact about 10 mins after I take it I can breath like a marathon runner.
