Because aside from Fedor, Klitschko brothers, Andrei Karelinko and maybe a very slight number of others they simply aren't athletic enough to make it in the sports people actually care about.

That's about as simple as it gets right there. That's really not a knock against the Russians but to say Americans don't have some of the very top athletes in the world is just stupid and obvious bias.

Yes, the dairy laws are stupid.   Luckily, we can also buy raw milk in california.  This has nothing to do with growing vegetables, though.  the dairy loaws have been in place for years.

The story is bullshit most likely, I am willing to give it a 1% chance that there someone teaching college economics that is this ignorant in properly applying a concept.

Funny thing is, this "socialist" concept has been successfully used by sales departments in various industries where the sales people recieve a big portion of their paycheck in commission. Instead of having each sales person working by themselves, they are put into groups or teams where they all work towards one commission check which is then divided up equally. What they found is that if you put multiple people in a group and have them work together instead of slicing each others throats for individual sales they make use of each others strengths and abilities and feed into them to increase sales and productivity.
