Romney was backed by 29 percent of Republican voters in the telephone poll conducted February 2-6, down from 30 percent in a survey in early January. The former Massachusetts governor's three rivals in the race to oppose President Barack Obama in November were in a close race for second, the poll showed.

Texas Congressman Ron Paul's support grew by 5 percentage points to 21 percent, moving him into second place and ahead of former House of Representatives speaker Newt Gingrich, whose support slipped to 19 percent from 20 percent.

Former Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum also rose by 5 points to reach 18 percent, just behind Gingrich, according to the poll.

Paul needs to get a well fit suit - shorter hair cut, more agression and direct attacks on Obama and he would be in first.


If he keeps showing up in stupid sweaters and not addressing Obama directly more forcefully - he is going nowhere. 

The GOP base wants someone who will go to war and battle against Obama.

Yes - but its not enough with romney getting FL and Newt going to do well on Super Teusday. 

Paul needs to say something like: 


"Ok everyone, after the last few months of utter bullshit from Newt, Perry, Bachmann, romney, Cain, etc  . . . . are you finally ready for someone with no weaknesses and dents in the armor against Obama and who will go to war with him and have no skeletons and no idealogical weaknesses?"

No one is disagreeing that RP is the best of the lot here - but we need to face reality.   RP lacks a killer instinct to go after obama and that is what people want, a leader who will take on obama. 

I have said it for over a year now.  I love RP, but his campaigning sucks!

I agree that he could run his campaign a little better - for example, if I were him, I'd use every moment of airtime to compare my opponents to Obama and make the point that they're an indistinguishable lot leading this country to bankruptcy. BUT he is rising in the national polls - makes ya think.

See - this is what drives me wild about RP - he could fucking hammer obama so badly on this obamacare contraception issue and take romney out at the same time, AND HE REFUSES TO DO SO!!!!   He would get his own hat trick - take out romney, destroy that pofs thug obama on this issue, and warm himself to religious voters who are on the fence and educate about religious liberty being as important as any other liberty!
