The BOSC Pear
« on: March 13, 2012, 07:48:49 AM »
They're ugly but they're really good!  When ripe, they're smooth, sweet and creamy, unlike the the Bartlett or D'anjous.  Their taste is pretty much the same, but when they're perfectly ripe, the texture is so much nicer.  I peel them because I don't like chewing on pear skins - it kinda gives me the "fingernails on a chalkboard" shiver.

I may as well be the first one to say it:
I'd like to compliment you on your pear!

Okay...it doesn't come across the same in print. ;)
