Sick as a dog! What food item was the culprit?
« on: March 20, 2012, 03:48:18 PM »
After this morning's workout I went to the grocery store and bought white meat chicken salad, and Horizon Organic Whole Milk with DHEA added (first time I've ever bought it).

Couple hours later, stomach pain, shitting water every 10 minutes, throwing up, just a wreck.

What food item has the highest probability of being the cause? I suspect the bullshit whole milk, as I bet nobody buys it.
The answer is "yes".

The milk is the first thing I'd suspect.

Chicken salad tasted fine. Milk tasted like shit but I chalked it up to being organic and DHEA laced...
The answer is "yes".

The incubation period for food poisoning is usually 10-12 hours.  It's most likely not the food you bought.

organic milk probably means it came straight from the cows tits without being pasteurized

when i was a kid and used to go to mexico, they would serve me that shit for breakfast man would fuck my shit up.... moms would have to go outside the towns to a store and get some cold pasteurized milk for us

Hours
The earliest onset of food poisoning occurs with listeria (found in unpasteurized dairy products, lunch meats, hot dogs and produce), noroviruses (found in shellfish and raw produce), Clostridium perfringens (found in gravy and undercooked stew) and Staphylococcus aureus (found in meat and cream). They can appear anywhere from 1 to 48 hours after contact

Antibiotics effective against Listeria species include ampicillin, vancomycin (unclear effectiveness), ciprofloxacin, linezolid, and azithromycin.

I got cipro laying around. Gonna be a bad night for those mother fuckers in my gut.
The answer is "yes".

Had that a month back. Definitely the chicken. Within 5 mins I knew I was in trouble. Less than 2 hours later I stared the puking. 4 hours, the shitting. Lasted the night. Took 3.5 days to get solid again. Would not wish on anyone.

Mayonnaise based chicken salad from the deli counter?  I'd suspect that before the milk, unless it was past it's date or unpasturized.
