I am a big believer that women should lift weights.
The biggest turn off I can have is a woman who does not take care of her body. I don't mean makeup or how she dresses so much, but her physical body. If she overweight, obese, or borderline chubby I am not interested.
Many women fear that lifting weights will bulk them up. Unfortunately this is a myth and it scares off many women. Basically every gym in town all you see is the little cardio bunny girls doing their treadmills and yoga.
It should be obvious that women have very little testosterone in their body. They will never, ever, get to the size of a weight lifting healthy adult male no matter how long they lift. The only way would be to take performance enhancing drugs.
This doesn't mean however they cannot gain muscle. It will be just much slower. Women have a different body shape and would not fill out like a man no matter how long they lift. Women have large hips, narrow shoulders, small forearms, and flat backs. These can all be greatly improved, but never filled out like a man.
Women should do a full routine just like any guy in the gym. Not just squats, not just curls, etc.
There is a woman I frequently see in the gym is not like the rest I tell you. She is a mother, 47 years old, and looks in her late 20s. She does squats, she does rows, she does deadlifts, and I could go on. She is feminine, but it is strong. She takes care of herself and enjoys working out. I could see no physical barriers that could hold her back.
