There are about 8 basic exercises a man needs to max out his muscular potential. Everything else is horseshit dressed up to make a fast sleazy buck. To prove this, look at the Ultimate Arena: Prison. In prison, every day there is a good chance a man may have to kill or be killed. There is no time for BS. No fancy MMA classes. No flashy Tae Kwon Do kicks. No big rubber balls or tires to flip. No ropes to mess with.
There is only time for what works. Now, we all know free weights have been removed from nearly all prisons. Why? Because the iron was making the convicts bigger and stronger to the point they posed a serious threat to the guards. And a bigger threat to the public. Convicts, by virtue of the iron, were turned into Super Criminals in the joint and being unleashed on the public upon parole. THE GOVERNMENT FEARS FREEWEIGHTS FOR PRISONERS.
So just what were these convicts doing with the weights? Just the basics: Squats, Bench Press, Military Press, Curls, Chins, Rows, Triceps Extensions. Why? Because those movements turn men into HULKING BEASTS. So why not keep it simple and just do those movements? Doesn't it make sense that if convicts who faced real no holds barred life or death fighting chose basic free weight exercises then today's MMA fighters and NFL lineman should do the same?
The fact is you could write what works on a 3x5 index card and there would be NO MONEY in it. Extraordinary results, yes. But NO MONEY. And unfortunately, that's what drives these so called "trainers".
