Great singing for sure but I'm just sick of these shows now - nothing more than glorified karaoke.

I don't mind them as much as the stupid shows that are all about celebrities private lives and making all sorts of "wives" into TV stars

at least the "talent" shows are capable of providing some entertainment

There is no shortage of talented folk on this planet.

I laugh when people claim so-and-so is the be-all, end-all of ... (fill in the blank).

Singers ... drummers ... pipe fitters ... surgeons ... actors ... whatever.  

It's like my dad. If it isn't Frank Sinatra or Barb Streisand, he doesn't think the person can sing worth a damn. He has no ability to hear beyond his own little closed-quarters world. Or contemplate that thousands can sing just as well.
