Chris "The Real Deal" Cormier was in top shape for this show. He was near his all-time best (1999 Mr. Olympia). Cormier weighed in a little over 250 lbs and brought great conditioning along with amazing shape and symmetry. He went up against an off Jay Cutler who sacrificed size for a more stream lined look. In the end the judges had Jay winning by only one point. This was the 5th year in a row that Cormier came in second and in my opinion should of won the show.

I can remember that night like it was yesterday.  My brother and I were excited to go to our first professional bodybuilding show and we had floor seats close to the stage.  Took one look at Cormier and the rest of the lineup and we both agreed that Cormier had this won hands down.  It was a no brainer.  Of course, politics took over and he received second place.  Never again will I pay to see such bullshit be handed to a competitor who deserved to win.

Even though his competition weight is high, he doesn't look big enough compared to other pro's.

There's no oil in those biceps.  He's always had really good biceps.

I believe that Chris has had a black mark on placings due to the Ahmo Hight situation. So, when the decision is close, they will err on the side of the other competitor. Add in that Jay was being groomed as the "heir apparent" to Ronnie Coleman and he has been marketed as Mr. All American since he won his Pro card.
