No, he would still be in the NFL if he could play at the pro level. Or, maybe if his head wasn't more concerned with Oprah reality shows and more with football he'd still be playing.

Too small for the nfl, too slow for the cfl.  The only thing he seems to excel at is quitting.

He quit the CFL before they could cut him. 

average pros have to work very hard to make it.  Sam didn't want to spend that time grinding for 3-5 years.  He wanted to be a star.  Great for him.  Host a tv show, write books.  But leave the game to those willing to pause the reality tv and just work.   Everyone wants to be a kardashian these days
