US special envoy Frank Wisner has said that Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak should remain in power to oversee a transition to democracy.

Germany and the UK are telling Obama to STFU up now too.   Good.

From the Wall Street Journal—

German Chancellor Angela Merkel and U.K. Prime Minister David Cameron, also in attendance, supported Egyptians’ demand for reform but stopped short of calling for President Hosni Mubarak to step down immediately.

“I don’t think we in the West should be the ones to point fingers and say it’s this leader or that leader who has to go now or start now,” Mr. Cameron said. “We should say that we back countries that are putting in place the building blocks of civil society, and that’s exactly what we’re doing in Egypt.”

Ms. Merkel urged a “peaceful and orderly” transition in Egypt, even at the cost of delaying elections while civil institutions capable of supporting a new government are put in place.

“I think it would be wrong to hold a very quick election as the beginning of a democratization process,” Ms. Merkel said. “We have to give the people the chance to build the corresponding structures.”

Like we are all saying - Obama is intentionally trying to create chaos and instability in order to get the MB into power.

12:30 PM: It appears that Frank Wisner, the special US envoy sent to Cairo, was flatly rebuffed when he tried to meet with Mubarak for a second time earlier this week. As I reported below, Wisner left Egypt. Here’s a brief New York Times account, part of along article, including a reference to Vice President Biden’s phone call to Vice President Suleiman:

Vice President Joseph R. Biden, Jr., spoke by phone to Mr. Suleiman on Thursday, the White House said in a statement, urging that ”credible, inclusive negotiations begin immediately in order for Egypt to transition to a democratic government that addresses the aspirations of the Egyptian people.“

Mr. Biden’s phone call came after a mission by Mr. Obama’s private emissary, Frank G. Wisner, was abruptly ended when Mr. Mubarak, angry at Mr. Obama’s toughly worded speech on Tuesday night, declined to meet with the envoy a second time, officials said.

Im starting to think it was actually a blessing in disguise for conservatives that the Republicans did not get COMPLETE control of Congress back. Even though they will be able to put a stop to a lot of the bad stufff that has gone on over the past 2 years, they arent going to be able to put us far enough in the opposite direction that we need to go. Obama isnt going to be willing to go far enough in that direction. Therefore, things will not get better fast enough for Obama to get re-elected. As Hanson said in his piece, its too little too late for Obama.

He is doubling down on treason.   I think he does not want a second term to be honest and just figures he can do as much damage as possible and if he wins, its gravy on top.

A nation with the majority of people doing well financially would vote repub... think 2000...

Obama's Approval Ratings More Polarized in Year 2 Than Year 1

February 4, 2011
The 68-point average gap between Democrats' (81%) and Republicans' (13%) approval ratings of President Barack Obama during his second year as president is up from 65 points his first year. Those are by far the most polarized ratings for a president's second year and the fourth most polarized since 1953.

so aside from the morals and belief systems we've been taught...

if the MAJORITY of a country wants something (51% of ppl not paying taxes and being worthless slugs wanting obama)...

Then maybe it's just the way shit is?  I mean, we are a democrazy.. majority rules.

if things change... belief systems or whatever... and it's 51, 55, 60, 70, 80 percent of the country that wants the nation to take care of them... then what?

right... and the majority of people elect representatives who CHANGE that constitution all the time.

i hate to say it, but what if the freeloaders simply outnumber the workers (safe to say they almost do already)...?  Then what?

Those pesky add'l amendments and bills and other legal moves have changed a shitload of the constitution.... you know that better than everyone.

Saudis told Obama to back Mubarak
The Times UK ^ | 9 feb 11 | Hugh Tomlinson

Saudi Arabia has threatened to prop up President Mubarak if the White House tries to force a swift change of regime in Egypt. In a testy personal telephone call on January 29, King Abdullah told President Obama not to humiliate Mr Mubarak and warned that he would step in to bankroll Egypt if the US withdrew its aid programme, worth $1.5 billion annually.
