happens to everyone.  happened to me early on in my career - have to admit that getting test results is a huge relief.  I think the govt (or maybe it was the hospital/insurance cos.) maintains a list of people with stds - can't remember now what gave me that impression, but i remember being relieved that i was not on the list in addition to the huge relief that i didn't have some serious disease.

anyhow, what happened to me was pretty gross - e. coli infection.  farking disgusting.

acting unconcerned at work while you have blood in your pee and it's fucking burning takes some mental discipline.  i also had to work while i was waiting to see the doctor - awesome. sitting in the waiting room responding to e-mails etc. all the while thinking you might have the HIV.
