Movie Question - The Family Man (Nicholas Cage & Tea Leoni)
« on: December 25, 2012, 11:01:30 PM »
You all know this movie, the networks plaster it all over the TV at Christmas time. So does Getbig agree with the premise of choosing love and family over money and career, or does Getbig think the movie is bullshit Christian values propaganda.

Bodybuilding related - Tea Leoni does a nude shower scene and has lower bodyfat than any IFBB Pro.

I guess the movie advocates the middle road. "You must have needed this every day", Cage says as he sips the whiskey he finds in his alter-egos drawer at the tyre shop. Isn't this a hint that the alter ego went to far in the unambitious direction?

The movie is telling you the only answer to personal happiness is a 2.4 kids, a house in suburbia, and keeping your wife happy by supporting her and her idea of what life should be.

Meanwhile it's juxtaposed against his life of living a large Manhattan apartment, driving a Ferrari, and banging out super models every night.

And the sappy answer is "I choose us".

WTF?

Perhaps the movie is more about atheist propaganda or mormon propaganda or islamic propaganda or catholic propaganda...those different groups all stand for love and family as well don't they?   If I recall the movie didn't have anything to do with Christ specifically did it?

That broad he encounters in the bowling alley who apparently always throws herself at him is hot.

I dig the movie. Cage is one of my favourite thespians.

Wong Hong judges a man solely on how much money he has.
