well, i did way back, lasix pills.

theres no doubt they work, but the sides put me off.

took one once before sleeping, was huge error, got cramps in places i didnt even know theres muscles, but in the morning, all the way more shredded.

but this cant be any good.

are there mild diuretics with less sides?

and what about the kidneys, do the mild ones damage the kidneys?

You do realize that the main use of diuretics are the sides, which is losing weight.  Remember Viagra was being developed for heart issues until the sides turned out to be hard ons so they marketed it that way instead.

Dyazide 1/2 a tab then 6 hrs later another half if needed. This is all I do for competition.

Spironolactone is mild and safe diuretic. It's potassium sparing so you won't get cramps. My ex gf used it for 1 year nonstop as an antiandrogen which is main downside. If you're prone to gyno then you might get into trouble.

I tried it, it's very mild. Did little to nothing versus testosterone (500mg+) bloat. It competes with aldactone in receptors so you have to cut sodium to make it work. If you do sodium manipulations without it, aldactone will rise and you will still get bloated but with this drug it won't happen. It's also commonly used to maintain dehydrated state after using harsh diuretics.

Most of the competitors I know used just spironolactone and sodium manipulations. Furosemid is way too harsh, many people had kidney failure or even heart failure after it. It's not worth it if huge money isn't at stake. For plastic trophy without any value? No way.

Yes.

Lasix via intravenous. That worked very fast, was very brutal, and I couldn't control it very well. Too hard on my system. Tried it once, and never again. Just not for me. I knew to expect some harshness, but I was a bit surprised. I felt very "yucky" for about 6 hours after the show. I was drinking and keeping the fluids going to re-hydrate afterwards.

Also tried Diazide. 1 tab every 3 hours for 24 hours the Friday before the show. Then, everytime I peed on Saturday, I would replace what I peed by drinking that exact amount in water, and have half a tab to keep the water partitioned properly. This worked very, very well. Sometimes, I've flattened out a bit too much, but was always dry. In retrospect, I should have been eating more to compensate when I flattened - you can get away with a lot of food if you're really water-dry, and you really need it to keep the muscles full. Live and learn.

Each year I get older, I lose water a little differently. There's no "repeatable" plan I can come up with to help me. It does seem a bit "trial and error".

That's prolly why no one was ever able to repeat same perfect condition year after year in the history of modern bodybuilding. Only two guys who had somewhat consistent dryness are Phil Heath and Dorian Yates. Not sure about Yates but Heath except from his one showing was always about the same when it comes to dryness, he just put on size.

Coffee and alcohol are diuretic.
