I'm training with a cat who is prepping for the Mr. Contra Costa, a high quality NPC show up here in the SF Bay Area- We were training chest. I decide to match him pound-for-pound, rep-for-rep. It was a stupid idea. . .
Flat DB presses, I'm hit the 90's for 8, I was going to stay there and do 3X8. On his next set he goes to the 115 X 8. On my next set I said, "Leave them there, I use them." The first rep was tough, as it always is, on the 2nd rep I feel a very sharp "bang" in my left delt. I back down to the 75's for 12 or something. My front left delt is sore, but not crazy sore. We finish chest. I am extremely sore for a few days but the pain is going away. . .
6-7 days later we're upstairs stretching. My friend is talking to a girl and just dragging ass. I pick up a jump rope and start skipping rope- I'm not kidding. I used to be pretty good- crossovers, double crossovers, double jumps, triple jumps, etc. I'm skipping, doing some crossovers and decide to do a double jump- I pull quick & fast out of the bottom to get the rope around twice on a single jump and BANG. LOL! I dropped the rope and said, "I think I just broke my fucking arm."
Had an MRI 48 hours later and the damage was complete.
