I think so too. This, and the F-type. Jaguar is bringing it.

COST??HP??? LOOKS NICE.
Don't know. But the article says that it will have some 4 cylinder engines. And there will be diesels for the euro market. If you look at the upcoming F-type's engines, which this no doubt share, it has a 3.0 liter S/C engine good for 340 to 380 hp, and a 5 liter V8 good for 495. So this new car can be tuned accordingly.

More pics here.

Problem is, this ain't the late 90s...and there have been moans that BMW has lost it's way, by going for more profit...And Audi is now the "it" brand.
And Jag's XJ and Audi's A8/S8 are the new full size "it" cars.
The 3 series has the same engine in the 335i (people criticize Lexus for doing the same) as the E9x 3 series, while Audi, Merc and Jag are offering better engines.

This Jag is to be their "volume" seller, and will not be like the X-type, which was a Ford Mondeo rebadge. This is a new modular chassis, and is aluminum, thus being more lightweight. Combined that with better styling than the current 3, and the engines, I think this will be a brisk seller. Which is better for everybody, including BMW.

Just look at the new Caddy ATS...

Thank you. I've been saying the same thing for close to a year now, Audi is the new "sophisticated lux" brand while BMW is slowly slipping away to the barely out of college crowd.

In china and in the Silicon Valley crowd, and with women, Audi is the big brand...the go to brand.
Why? Could it be the marketing, the interiors, the rounded shape, the tech, or Quattro AWD, or all of it?
I have a family member who is looking at a A7, he considers BMW the brand for douchebags, and "unsofisticates", as do his friends.
