then explain Frederique (Vicky's Secret model from the early 90s) and Cindy Crawford, both of whom were not skinny...
There are different kinds of models. You have your runway models (stick thin human clothing hangers) catalogue models (pretty girl next door types) editorial models (stunning faces) and lingerie models (voluptuous curvy).
The reason Giselle Bundchen was at the top of her class is because she could cross over into every genre of modelling. You'd never see an emaciated waif modelling lingerie, and Cindy Crawford, as beautiful as she is simply does not have a feminine body. She has a very thick trunk, kind of like Shakira.
I kinda said that the clothing is what matters, so a prettier, attractive woman takes away from that. Hence why, skinny androgynous women are best...
With respect to catalogue modelling. You won't find one of those gracing the pages of Victoria's Secret.
The problem lies in the fact that they market said women as the women to have, when who really wants a human clothes hanger? And who really wants to look like a human clothes hanger?
The only people who want to look like human clothes hangers are runway models, and impressionable girls primed for an eating disorder. The only guys who want human clothes hangers are insecure egomaniacs looking for a beard, or a trophy piece of eye candy to show the world. When it comes right down to it, even the ones strutting about with their trophy's on their arms secretly prefer curves. It's like eating a steak... real men want the meat... and they leave the bones for the dogs.
