Building an adult life.
« on: March 18, 2013, 04:16:31 PM »
Anyone else reach the point where they feel a need to start building a life. I donno it might be because I'm approaching my 26th birthday, but I've been drifting the last few years, and have no where I really call home.

No adult friends that I keep in contact with, no girlfriend, no town to call home etc. Anyone else feel the same?

Yep. First thing you need is an idea, turn that idea into a plan. Then work on getting what you need to complete that plan to complete your new reality. Before all this is done, you need to ask yourself what is it you want to do? What do you want out of this life over the next say 5-10 years. Start there and build from there. BTW, this is all about you. Not a bitch.

To make it seem more real instead of an idea in your head. I highly suggest putting your idea/plan in print form of some sort.

Better start making progress. These things dawned on me when i was 23 and bodybuilding. Sometimes you got to know when to roll a hard six and sometimes you got to know when to fold.

Yeah I donno I've been to fixated on making money to even consider settling down in one place for a period of more than a year. I'm starting to realize I ain't ever gonna have cash, and might wanna start cutting my losses.

Some people are late bloomers. I went through and got my bachelors degree after that I really struggled for a few years made a lot of bad decisions and had the same doubts about life as you. I got myself an entry level job at a University hospital. I'm slowly working my way up thanks to some connections I made. You have to work hard and be willing to show people how hard you work and people will give you a chance. You also have to network to give yourself a chance at finding opportunities. Thanks to a friend of mine who is a physical therapist and another one who is nurse I met a really nice girl and landed a great job. I'm back in school for the next year. When I finish my pay will be doubled and I will have even more opportunities to work my way up. It's a lot about who you know.
