I don't get it? how are they being accused of scamming?,... do they take your money and run or what?
My friend builds Ferrari's and viper, Porsche's and all kinds of exotic cars and he charges from 15-30 grand, not hard to do, complete body kits run less then 10 grand and then the price of the car you use and then he raises the horse power to 4-500 and it's a replica, obviously not even close to the real deal but it looks good, I don't see how this is a scam, obviously the person knows he is paying for a fake.
they claim to build real replicas, use Top Gear Personalities like Tanner Foust as endorsers, cut and edit Top Gear episodes, but never deliver the finished product.
They take pics of themselves next to real exotics and claim its their replicas. They start off with Toyota MR2 chassis (as most exotics are mid-engined) and use Toyota V6s, and for a small fee claim to to have BMW V12s laying around, or used Bentley W12s which they claim that they can turn add 4 turbos to equal the power of a W16...all this engineering talent found in a shed in Panama.
They also have various business locations, but exist nowhere...just take the money in a pay as you go format. Which means, if they don't get it all, they get some of it.
So called "Travellers" do it here in the states, one scsm is that they tell you that they can do your driveway, and use what the government uses, and that you don't have to seal it.
So they want money up front for the goods and equipment. They start on it, and never finish. Leaving a crumbling mess. Usually preying on old folks who buy into the scam.
