Manson followers should be released?
« on: June 05, 2013, 04:44:29 PM »
It amazes me that the followers are still in jail.  I think they are paying a higher price because they killed "celebs."

Fuck, Leslie Van Houten never even killed anybody.

I think Charles Manson is to some degree a media creation in the sense that while what he had done was horrible I don't put him anywhere near in the same level as Dahmer, Gasey, Bundy etc. I think his murders get over sensationalized because of the 1960's era, location and high profile actress and director involved.

In the end here is a guy who, from the age of 9 to 80 years old has been locked up or institutionalized for all but a handful of years and basically got caught up in a bad situation with a ton of drugs and delusional kids who wanted to impress him.

Anyway, my point is they let child rapists/killers out after much less time.

What seperates Manson from all those guys and makes him such a media hit is his charisma. The guy is a great talker who has been able to influence people his whole life. From musicians all the way to common kids on the street.

That's what kept the television stations coming back all those years to interview him. Ratings. While listening to the Dahmer types you just got creepy vibes and turned the channel after 5 minutes but Charlie kept folks tuned in. Dudes just an old school hustler who learned his craft through the penitentiary system.

Depends on if you think prison is for punishment OR rehabilitation. The girls hv been in prison for 40 years without any problems, they aren't going to get any more rehabilitated. They aren't a threat to anyone anymore

Tex Watson however STILL Enjoys being known as the killer from the Manson family, so he'll never get out. Not that the girls will either. Just sayin

The Van Houten chick was hot for a 1960's murdering hippy chick.
