Not sure why all the hate...I spend 19 bucks on some artwork which is worth at least 15 times more than what I paid for it.  I think I did pretty well

Wife and I like to do that (antique shops, flea markets). Never know what you'll find.
I recently sold a pair of Jackson Globe dumbbells (40's) for $450.00, some folks are hardcore collectors and will pay what it takes to get stuff.

Its a very selective market...last finds I had was a Tandy 200 along with some Magnavox Odyssey games still in the box.  Fixing them usually entails some solder work on resistors but usually not much stuff.  Main thing is to clean them.  Sometimes even non working items have a lot of value.  


Just have to know what you're looking at more than the person selling it

I also have a habit of going into goodwill/Salvation Army stores looking for antiquities, lately I've only found complete garbage but every once and awhile you may find a good book or collectors item. I usually keep the stuff I find anyways.
