Cool,

I too would love to hike those places you speak of, sounds like cool experience. As a guy who never competed (I never did either, but have lifted weights for many many years) do you ever look at some people in the industry male or female and think "wtf were they thinking?"

No - it is not for me to tell someone what to do like that.  If they have a passion for it, by all means.  They are not hurting me or my family. I have more of an issue with people smoking and blowing their smoke in my face, then someone dieting, training to look good.

Yes, some hiking trips were very hard (picture a 70 pound backpack heading up into the mountains for 3-4 days) - you don't have a car around or a trailer, but oh so worth it when I was younger.  Now, not so in shape at all ...

Nope - never been a bodybuilder.  Used to hike a lot, down the Grand Canyon, up above the tree line in Kings Canyon, Yosemite, Sequoiya...

Just enjoy the expos, the sport, and the friends around that a meet. As well as it is part of the supplement industry which sponsors a lot of it.

Ever try to sneak a grab at a fitness/bikini chicks ass?

Important lesson. You should know when to enter a stage, and when to leave.

Ron,

You do realize they're doing a bit more than just "dieting & training" don't you? ???

And the fact that they actually "look good" is also up for debate.

Have you hiked Runyon Canyon before?

Nope. Not cool. My wife would whack me.  I can't help it if they try :)

Skirts? they are wearing tiny bikinis. I am fortunate to be able to shoot 15-20 contests a year with some incredible bikini competitors.

What looks good to someone may not look great to others. Hiked Runyon Canyon a long time ago.  This past weekend, went Kayaking in Oxnard in the Channel Harbors, which was harder than I thought after 45 minutes of doing that with my 6 year old in the front sear (double kayak).
