Novice Bodybuilding Competitions

Anybody have any experience at one. Is it the same format as an NPC show? The website doesn't mention how many rounds or poses you do. It only says that your music should be 90 seconds long for your routine. It's the KY state novice if anybody has done it.

Novice, open, pro.  Any reputable show would be tpretty much the same.

Morning prejudging (last all day).
Finals in the evening (music, individual routines, etc.)
Concludes with trophy presentation

7 mandatory poses, Novice is a joke, I entered a NPC at 19 came in 2nd, Casey Viator won the Mr Americas at 19 still a standing record.

Yeah I know the novice is a joke, but I just want to get my feet wet. I'll enter an NPC show later in the year. I'm 35, I have no chance of being Casey Viator. Always wanted to compete when I was younger and never did. Injuries, switching jobs, something always kept me from it.

Understood. Here you go. Prejudging is where the show winner is determined. Night show is for the crowd. Suggestion is practice these poses below then just get the Bodyfat down pick some music and go for it. I always liked this sound for the night show. Good luck.

Thanks. I know all the mandatory poses pretty well. I've been practicing in the mirror to see how I look best. I like talking heads but I think I'm going to go with ACDC Thunderstruck.

I know it's popular, but I can't think of anything else I like that fits my routine.
