I live in Zanzibar and wish I could wrap all the goodness of this little island into a piece of cotton wool and put it into a box and share it with the world.

So I hate to see this little “home” of mine in a shadow such as this .

I feel desperate for the girls that were attacked last night in Stone Town and I can only imagine the absolute fear that must have paralysed them.

I do have questions though - and the only reason I feel the need to ask is because of what I see and experience all the time.

Where were they walking and why alone? Were they covered up?  

Zanzibar is predominantly a Muslim country but I see so many tourists walking around in string tops and tiny little skirts and shorts.

And there are others who kiss or hold hands on the street or smoke in public - all things which are frowned upon.

Of course that would still be no reason to attack them. But the people who dress like that are disrespectful.

Unfortunately, you see apologists like this all the time.   They give you multiple reasons why the girls brought the attack on themselves but following it up by protesting they aren't blaming the victims.  Yes, you are blaming the victim but to much of a coward to come right out and say it.

Archer77, you are spot on. The apologist stuff is cowardly and shows a lack of spine and a total lack of mental ability. Stripping down the her comments of the PC BS she simply says it's their own fault for having the audacity to walk down the street and because of that it's there fault they had acid thrown on their faces. Gotta love the "That doesn't excuse the attack...." at the end, though, because right after that this stupid bitch goes on to excuse the attack/blame the victims, yet again, because "....they were disrespectful."
